- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup light Karo syrup
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup finely chopped nuts of choice
- 1/4 tsp coarse sea salt
Instructions
- Line a 9x9 pan (with sides) with parchment paper. This will make removing the candies easier. If you skip this step you may have a mess.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat combine, butter, white sugar, brown sugar, Karo syrup, and sweetened condensed milk.
- Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to medium and cook stirring constantly for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Pour hot candy into the prepared 9x9.
- Top with coarse sea salt. Top with chopped nuts.
- Cool candy completely before cutting candy into bars with a sharp knife on waxed paper.
- Store loosely covered at room temperature.
